But it works.I let my hair go without any color for five years, so that along with menopause has mad my hair a weird texture.I put it on in the bathroom and then let it process 30 minutes up in a clip.I blew it dry with a brush blow dryer. I went outside because this is when the fumes are a lot. I then flat ironed it, chased it with a fine tooth comb. Still smelled bad. I considered leaving it until the next day but the way your hair feels is gross. So I washed it and conditioned it than let it dry. This is my results. It doesn’t even feel like my hair. Depending and how much you wash your hair is to whether how long it will stay in. After about three months, your hair will return to its natural pattern.

You can believe the hype. Kerragen is just as good as the one time I paid almost $200 on a cruise to get a keratin treatment. Also believe the reviews when they tell you to do this in a well ventilated area. It’s misleading at first cause it doesn’t really smell that bad but the fumes started burning my eyes even though my mom was helping me apply it outside. We probably used too much but it was our first time. Took forever to blow dry and my hair felt sticky until I washed it. The whole process from application to flat iron took about 2.5 hrs. I waited almost 72 hours before washing and blow drying again. Pictures provided are the before about 8 weeks after my first and only professionally done keratin treatment. After picture is 72 hours after treatment after I washed and blowed it dry, no iron, no smoothing oil. 10/10 so glad I got this. $40 for the bottle and it’ll probably give me a years worth of treatments.

Me and my mom tried this product the other day and WOW. My natural hair texture is coarse, pretty thick and would say i have mostly wavy hair with a few curls if i reallyyyyy work in products and don’t touch it. It’s very rare for my hair to remain frizz free without either a ton of products (which usually leave my hair feeling heavy and oily) or a ton of high heat & tension. I noticed my hair had become very brittle leaving it hard to manage and to leave natural no matter what products i used and almost never touching my hair to heat. So i decided to give this a try as it is also supposed to be really good for your hair!First image is my hair air dried natural (before product) and the last pic is my hair air dryed after using this product. My hair is now so silky smooth, dries faster and so manageable! I am still able to work with my hair, curl it, style it, it’s just easier now, lasts longer & i don’t have to use as much heat. I washed with a clarifying shampoo twice, worked in the product on damp hair, I left it in for 45 mins (time recommended is on bottle) then blow dried with my Revlon & straightened it on 410. I wound up leaving it in my hair a full day like that before washing like normal.here are my only cons: the smell/fumes during the blow drying/straightening process and how long drying takes while product is in hair. We knew going into this that this comes with the process, but it did actually really burn our eyes & throats and made us cough pretty bad. Next time we will just do this part in a better ventilated room or outside. It’s worth it for the end result!Highly recommend and don’t regret it!

I have spent most of my life hating my hair. Especially as I’ve gotten older, my hair has become even frizzier and unmanageable. I’ve invested in higher quality, cleaner products and I’ve been on Nutrifol for over eight months now (has helped with growth and thickening my hair), but nothing has been able to tame my hair enough to be able to wear it down. My biggest problem is the hair near my face - it was far too frizzy and poofy to ever wear down, even behind my ears. It got to the point where I would either only wear my hair in a messy bun or style it every week and just not wash it as long as possible. I HATED my hair.I tried this product out and I’m so beyond sad that I didn’t know about this YEARS AGO. It is life changing. I wear my hair down EVERY SINGLE DAY. I love my hair now. LOVE IT. I use the exact same products in my hair (redken all soft shampoo and conditioner then oil on the ends, It’s a 10, and dae leave in conditioner after) and it’s night and day from before to after I used Keregen. Truly, truly, truly cannot recommend it enough, although I know all hair types are different.Even at the beach after using this product - my hair could easily be washed and let air dry with my products and then go to dinner confident that my hair would look good. I used to have to blow dry it and style every time we wanted to go somewhere because my hair with product was not pretty. I was actually very excited to write this review. I have naturally very curly, thick auburn hair that I have chemically straightened for 20+ years. My hair dresser always used the Rusk system that took 5 hours and worked beautifully but they discontinued my product ten years ago. I have tried every over the counter, “professional” keratin straightening cream out there with little good results. I was always afraid to try something with formaldehyde in it myself. But I went ahead broke down purchased this product. Wow. I followed directions to the T. Washed with clarifying shampoo, applied product generously and waited an hour. I blowed it out and used my chi iron on 1 inch sections of hair, going over each section ten times at 425*. Then I immediately washed my hair again, it will be heavy and sticky so you have to wash it. Afterwards I could already tell a difference before I even dried it. I followed the same steps, blow dry, sectioned hair and went over it with the chi again. My hair is salon silky, smooth and curl free! I was not given this product or asked to review it, I’m a legit satisfied customer. I’ll be stocking up! Btw the bottle is insanely HUGE!

You don't realize after your 40's how easily your hair damages, between hair ties, styling, swimming, and just life. This treatment gave me back the hair I had. Will definitely buy again when I run out. Works amazing and has held up but I did purchase their shampoo and conditioner as well. Some tips: whenever you apply the product, use a fine-toothed comb after applying so that the product reaches all the hair. Before straightening, dry your hair with a brush and make it even smoother. When straightening, always use small strands and use a comb in between the straightener to keep the strands aligned and smooth. Flat iron each strand 10x to 12x each.

I have naturally curly hair. I have used a relaxer in my hair for years, until the summer of 2020 when I started getting a keratin at a salon. I paid $200 every eight weeks for a keratin and trim. My hair was very healthy and grew from a short bob to shoulder length. A few months ago, the salon I went to increased their prices from $150 to $300 per hour for keratin treatments. My beautician told me I could buy a bottle for $800, ugh…no!I found this product on Amazon and decided it was time to start doing my keratins. I applied the product the same way my beautician did…washed hair twice (no conditioner), applied product from roots to ends on damp hair, allowed the product to stay on for thirty minutes, blow dry hair completely, and flat ironed. My hair looks and feels the same after having a keratin done at a salon. I use permanent dye on my hair every three or four months and get regular trims (every eight weeks). Because keratin treatments do not break the chemical bond in the hair, I can still wear my hair curly or straight. Also, keratin treatments will lift color from your hair; my burgundy/black dyed hair will change to a light brown color after a keratin treatment, so I color my hair about a week or two after having one done. I expect the bottle to last at least four treatments; I will continue to buy this product. The photo attached was taken about 10 minutes after I finished the keratin treatment.

It works. If you follow the directions, you'll get the promised results. My hair wasn't terribly unruly. But it was frizzy and very reactive to humidity. My hair type is a 2c/3a. But after I washed it, it was like some magical hair fairy blessed me with perfect hair. It's sooooo soft, has body and no frizz.Here's why I'm torn.. the FUMES. So I had to big chop last year in september due to getting a “keratin treatment” in the salon. i use quotation marks because i am very certain they used relaxer in my hair. when my hair got wet it was bone straight, it falling out and so damaged. fast forward to a few days ago and i wanted to try giving myself a keratin treatment to help make my thick, coily hair more manageable. KERATIN IS NOT SUPPOSED TO GET EID OF YOUR CURLS !!! i washed twice with a clarifying shampoo, sectioned my hair into four, applied the product and combed through with a fine tooth comb. let it sit with a plastic cap for 60 minutes, then i combed out the excess again before blow drying. the smoke was not bad, but i think it can be bad if you have a lot of excess on your hair. i did wear a mask for my own safety. i would recommend gloves because all the moisture is stripped from my hands and they are permanently pruney right now lol. all in all, i really love this treatment, how inexpensive, and easy it is to use. the results it’s given my hair is amazing for a home treatment. i will update after i wash it out to see how it holds up :)update: i left the product on for 5 days before my first wash. my curls are still in tact, just juicy, not frizzy and does not shrink !! i’m truly so freaking happy. my hair has been the bane of my existence for a long time, but i finally feel confident & like my hair is healthy.

Before pic of my permed + naturally curly hair (permed for more even curls) and after pics. I followed the steps and took these pics AFTER I washed my hair.I kept the solution in for 45min, squeezed out any extra before blow drying and straight ironing it at 410° F. Once straightened, I took a shower and shampoo+conditionered. I have fairly thin hair but instead of 20-30min blow drying plus time with straightener, this took only 5min with the Revlon roundbrush blow dryer. Super impressed!I didn't have too much of an issue with the fumes. Reading other reviews had me freaked out so I sat in our dining room near the sliding door with a small fan blowing over my head. I think the fan made the difference as it was a fairly pain-free easy process. I'll be doing this again!

It used to take me 25-30 minutes just to blow dry and then straighten my hair and even then, my hair would still have that frizzy look. The look where you know I don't have straight hair but I'm trying to make it happen. Then I found this stuff. I had never had a Keratin treatment before but I felt like this would be my attempt at seeing what it was all about. And yes, it's strong. Wear a mask and take frequent breaks while blow drying it. Your eyes will even burn and your throat if you're not smart about it. I left my hair dry and straight without washing for about 2 full days and then I finally took a shower and I was amazed at how smooth my hair felt. It only took me about 5 minutes to blow dry my hair and I didn't put any product in when blow drying. This is it dry without product and I plan on straightening with a little bit of product to get those frizzy end pieces a little smoother. I'm very happy with this product and what it did for my hair.

Used this product just to make life a little easier and I’m well satisfied with the results. Don’t wash it out and I would suggest wearing glasses or something to protect your eyes from the burning fumes while blow drying. Other than the burning eyes it worked wonders.

The product arrived with the seal, broken and smells like conditioner. I’ve done many keratin’s as a professional hairdresser. I wanted to try this one because it still has from aldehyde as an ingredient. I am uneasy on using this on any customers due to the seal being broken. The product is also halfway gone.

I have naturally curly hair but wear it straight the majority of the time and this cuts down on my drying time and having to flat iron. I normally have it done in the salon but wanted to try to do it at home. I Followed instructions on box, except I didn’t wash for two days and I didn’t use any rubber bands or clips and kept my hair straight as much as possible (not behind my ears or pushed back with sunglasses). Used the sample shampoo and conditioner and blow dried like normal, came out perfect, no need to flat iron and hair is so soft and smooth. Totally worth it if it last the 4-5 months like a salon treatment.

So I have to give credit where credit is due. This product took me for a whirlwind experience I will never forget. The smell…it’s horrible. My eyes burned. My throat burned. My nose was running into my mouth. But I knew this. I endured. I started in a ventilated bathroom with window wide open. But ended up having to move myself into our covered patio outside just so I could breath. All this aside though. I know if I used a mask and maybe started outside it would have worked out 10x better for me. But I did what I did and I don’t regret it. BECAUSE. I went from having 4a Type hair that took 2.5 hours to straighten or even blow dry that would sweat out within the hours, to, sleek strong vibrant and beautiful hair. I’ve been in awe of how it’s been the last few days. And I have enough to do it again in a few months when needed, while saving myself so much money. I cannot stress how much this product will do you good. But be prepared. Because she fights, and she’s good.
